JUNE HACKING
June Hacking aged 78, of Kamloops, B.C., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 after a lengthy illness at Lakeview Lodge in Kelowna, B.C. She was born in Pinewood, Ontario on June 20, 1935.
June is survived by her children: Linda Angus; Wayne (Susan) Storey; Larry (Dawn) Storey; and Jo-Anne (Ray) Sims. Also survived by her grandchildren: Colleen Storey, Tiffany Angus, Christina Wurst, Melissa Sims, Tracy Angus, Brittany Sims, Courtney Sims and her six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Harold (Priscilla) Roth; Ellen Belbas; Gerry (Bill) Cullen; Earl Roth; Dwaine (Leona) Roth. June also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
June is predeceased by John Hacking (husband); Germain Roth (mother); Norman Roth (father); Jason Storey (grandson); Donald Roth (brother); Ernie Multimaki (brother-in-law); Maureen Roth (sister-in-law); and Harry Belbas (brother-in-law).
June started her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Atikokan General Hospital. She continued her career in Kelowna and then in Kamloops at Royal Inland Hospital, where she worked until she retired in 1995. Her dedication and love for her job was admired by many. She took great pride in her work of helping others. In June's downtime she loved working her green thumb by tending to her garden and plants.
June's family would like to thank all the staff at Lakeview Lodge for the unwavering care and comfort they provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in June's memory to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the BC Lung Association.
Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 255 Nicola Street, Kamloops, B.C., on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013 at 11:00 AM.
