Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, of Mr. George Ian Reid of Andrews of Stratford and Hope River in his 80th year. Son of the late James and Rita (Cullen) Reid and dear father of Michele (Louis) Woods of Emyvale and Kevin (Donna) of South Winsloe. Grandfather of Chelsey Woods and Adam and Nolan Reid. Brother of Fran Sark, Joseph (Doris) Reid, Laura (Bill) Quinn, Pauline Giroux, Eleanor Larkin, Eileen (Wilbert) Peters, James Patrick Reid and Shirlee (Alex) Mitton. Besides his parents George was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Simpson, brothers-in-law Adrien Giroux, Raymond Sark, Thomas Larkin, Lloyd Simpson, niece Krista Quinn, nephews Shawn Smith, Kevin Simpson and grandnephew Chase Wakelin. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Wednesday, then transferred to St. Anne’s Church, Hope River, for funeral mass at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Anne’s Parish Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Due to allergies please refrain from wearing scented products. In lieu of flowers contributions in George’s memory may be made to Fr. Eloi’s Educational Fund for the Poor Children of Volcanes, Mexico, or St. Anne’s Parish Cemetery Fund.
