LANGLOIS - Armande (nee Laberge), 88, of Ponteix Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22 at Regina General Hospital following a stroke. Funeral Mass was held Friday, September 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church with Father John Mock officiating. Interment was held in Ponteix Parish Cemetery. The pallbearers were Denis, Guy, Gerald and Richard Langlois, Renald Chabot, and Daniel Perrault. Cross bearer was Brian McFarlane. Many thanks to the Ponteix Church Choir at the prayer vigil. The soloist at the funeral mass was Leah Perrault, accompanied by her mother Joan McDonald. Armande is survived by her seven children: Denis (Kolleen Kouri) Langlois of Calgary, Rita (Renald) Chabot of Port Coquitlam, Guy (Georgeline Ruest) Langlois of Red Deer, Paulette (Daniel) Perrault of Ponteix, Gerald (Joanne Bonneville) Langlois of Red Deer, Richard (Nadean Humbke) of Edmonton and Anne (Brian) McFarlane of Regina. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren: Kristine Langlois, David (Kara) Langlois, Joel Chabot, Janine (Michael) Green, Steven, Ben and Kevin Langlois, Michelle Perrault, Marc (Leah) Perrault, Jason Langlois, Leanne (Kyle) Pess, Lise Langlois, Alecia and Galen Langlois and Monique (Kevin) Roy. She was also blessed with 6 great-grandchildren: Denis and Samuel Langlois, Tarin Frotten, Robyn and Eliot Perrault, and Mason Roy. Two more great-grandchildren are expected this year. Armande's surviving siblings are Jean Laberge and Dr. Robert Laberge as well as numerous brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Armande was predeceased by her loving husband, Maurice Langlois, her parents Alexandre and Laurenza Laberge, brothers Armand, Denis, Henri and Roland Laberge and her sisters Carmen Janzen and Marie-Paule Bonneau. Armande was the second child of a family of nine. She was born on March 21, 1925 in Ferland, Saskatchewan. She attended the Survivance School to grade 10, and then attended Lafleche Finishing School, then went on to Teacher's Normal Training in Moose Jaw. At age 18, her first posting as a teacher was in the Billimun School. She later taught in Dollard, Ponteix, and then went on to teach in Willow Bunch, where she met and married the love of her life, Maurice Langlois. Armande and Maurice married on October 18, 1949 in Ferland, Saskatchewan and they settled in Gye, Saskatchewan. In 1969 they transferred to Ponteix where she resumed substitute teaching and other positions within the school system. Armande dedicated more than 40 years to educational pursuits in order to collect her teacher's pension. Armande continued to learn and teach her whole life. She enjoyed crocheting, her computer, iPad, Facetime, and Facebook. She was a beloved Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma (GG), sister, aunt and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Lemieux Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Ponteix Road Ambulance Association are gratefully accepted in her memory.
