GODFREY, ALBERT D. - 1948 - 2013 - South Napan Road, Napan, N.B. -Albert Dougall Godfrey, husband of Bonita Godfrey of the South Napan Road, Napan, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at the age of 64. Born in Chatham, on November 21, 1948, he was the son of the late Austin D. and Minnie (Taylor) Godfrey. He was a custodial employee of District # 16 School Board and a member of Carmel United Church, Napan; a former member of Session, Elder, Board of Stewards and a church Trustee. He was a Napan 4H Leader; a coach of the Napan Farm League Ball teams; a volunteer with the Napan Agricultural Show. He is survived by his wife, the former Bonita Gilliss; two sons, Jason Godfrey (Miranda), of Fredericton and Jeremy Godfrey (Scott), of Halifax, N.S.; two sisters, Elizabeth Seaman (Paul) and Alberta Barry, all of Miramichi; two brothers, William Godfrey (Elizabeth), of Moncton and Edgar Godfrey (Diane), of Black River Bridge; two grandchildren, Caleb and Ayden Godfrey; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents in 1994 and 2008 as well as one special cousin, Ellsworth Godfrey.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Carmel United Church, Napan, on Friday, October 4, 2013, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. A private interment will be held at a later time. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Extra Mural Nursing Program or any charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
