NEW GLASGOW – Rita Margaret Lewis, 86, New Glasgow, August 18, 1927 - October 6, 2013.
It is with great sadness we announce the death of Rita on Sunday, October 6 in the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
She was a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Ryan) Gerrior.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Holly (Glenn) MacGregor; sons: Jack (Cathy); Harold (Anna); Brian (Christine); David (Barb Oakes); and Donald (Mary Lynn); grandchildren: Mark (Cassie) MacGregor, Andrea MacGregor, Janet MacGregor, Scott (Allie) Lewis, Rebecca Lewis, John Lewis, Tyler Lewis, Emily Lewis, Ellen Lewis and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by husband John H. Lewis; six brothers: Joe, William, Andrew, Pat, Bill and Jack; and five sisters: Mary, Theresa, Cecelia, Gaye and Charlotte.
The family would like to thank the staff of Glen Haven Manor and Dr. Brad MacDougall.
There will be no visitation by request. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Thursday in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, with Father Gary MacPherson and Father Donald Boudreau officiating.
Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
