McGRATH, RAYMOND JOSEPH - Raymond Joseph McGrath of Hammonvale went home to his Lord and Saviour on October 7, 2013, from the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family at his side. Born August of 1939 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Raymond Joseph and Pauline Mary (Joyce) McGrath. He worked as an Electrician for many years. Raymond attended Faith Baptist Church in Sussex. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Gladys (McGivery) McGrath of Hammonvale; brother Peter McGrath (Henrietta) of Willow Grove, sisters Mary Gallagher of Rothesay, Pat Blackadar of Quispamsis and Patty Dobson (Dino) of Saint John; grandson Ryan McGrath; brothers-in law, sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, friends; feline friend Angel and canine friend Chloe. Besides his parents, Ray was predeceased by his son Joseph Raymond “Joe” McGrath in April of 2012.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, October 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
