Passed peacefully away surrounded by family and friends at the Health Sciences Complex, following a courageous five month battle with leukemia, Betty Chafe, aged 61 years. Now resting with the angels, Betty was a beautiful person and precious mother, step-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Mary Chafe. Leaving to mourn, much loved son Adam (Holly Noftall); step-grandson Jaxon; brother Cyril (Joyce); sister, best friend, and caregiver, Sandra Finn (David); sister Marion Cobbs (John); special niece Wendy Finn (Jared Williams); nieces: Debbie Forrester, Barb Walsh (Larry) and Jackie Kean (Glen); nephews: Darrell Finn (Mary), Wade Finn (Dena Ross), Howie Chafe (Jen Fowler), David Walsh and Tony Walsh; special great-nephew Ryan Finn, and special little buddy Cameron Chafe; good friends: Pauline Chafe, Liz Tracey and Carol Mathews; special cousins: Mabel Chafe, Daphne Chaulk, Chris MacDonald and Rita Mullins; as well as a large circle of relatives, friends, co-workers and dart buddies. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Wednesday, October 9, from 7-9, on Thursday, October 10, from 2-9 p.m. and on Friday, October 11, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Funeral service will take place from St. George’s Anglican Church, Petty Harbour, on Friday, October 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., with cremation to follow.
