CHAREST, SISTER GABRIELLE, n.d.s.c. - Sister Gabrielle, n.d.s.c., in religion Sister Marie-Georgie-Anne of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away on Saturday, October 12 2013 at the convent following a lengthy illness. She was 98 and in her 80th year of her religious life. Born December 18, 1914 in St-Jacques, NB, she was the daughter of the late Amedée and Georgianne (Plourde) Charest. Besides her religious family, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by eight brothers: Patrice, Ronald, Raoul, and five infants; seven sisters: Alma, Annette, Weeda, Nora, Sr. Regina, c.n.d., Sr. Rita, c.n.d., and Jeanne.
Sister Gabrielle will be resting at the Pavillon N-D-d’Acadie of the Maison-mère des Religieuses N-D-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance). Visiting hours Monday October 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday October 15 from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Monday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am in the chapel of the Maison-mère. Interment will be in Memramcook.
