Isabel Munro (nee McComb), born in Grandview Manitoba, April 20, 1917.Passed away Edmonton, AB October 12, 2013. It is with great sadness that our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother passed away at her home, Holyrood Extendicare in Edmonton on Saturday October 12 with her family at her side. Left to mourn her passing are her children Gary (Gladys) Munro of Edmonton, AB; Anne (Keith) James of Sherwood Park, AB. Her grandchildren Debbie (Wally) Niblett of Edmonton, AB; Cheryl (Fabian) Rush of Edmonton, AB; Robert (Shannon) James of Sherwood Park, AB; Tyler (Michelle) James of Sherwood Park, AB; Andrew (Kristi) James of Saskatoon, SK. Her Great Grandchildren Amanda & Kerri Niblett, Alex & Samantha Rush, Keisha & Cole James, Jessica & Nicole James, Lucas & Logan James. Isabel was pre-deceased by her loving husband Leonard in 2008. Len and Isabel were married in 1938 in Prince Albert, SK. Isabel spent many years working with her husband as a bookkeeper/secretary first with J. Munro and Sons Case implement dealership and for their Studebaker dealership in 1952 then when they took over the Datsun Franchise in 1966 (later to be known as Munro Nissan Ltd). Len and Isabel enjoyed the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s at their shack tent in Waskesiu moving to Candle Lake in 1968, where they spent many enjoyable hours playing cards with friends and watching their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play. Isabel spent every holiday cooking delicious meals for her family up to the age of 90, when she moved to the Good Shepherd in Prince Albert, SK. She later moved to Sherwood Park, AB where she spent a year in Summerwood Senior Living and the last few years at Extendicare Holyrood facility in Edmonton, AB. Isabel will be remembered by her family for her unconditional love and support. A memorial service will be held in summer 2014 when she will be laid to rest with her husband in Prince Albert, SK. The family would like to thank the staff at Holyrood for their kindness and care over the last few years. They would especially like to thank Kelly (Director of Extendicare Holyrood) for her care and compassion.
