It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Watson Harris on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Rick was the eldest son of Frank and Edna Harris both deceased. He was also deceased by younger brother Ron Harris.

He is survived by his son Trevor (Leanne) Harris, grandsons Taylor and Jacob. Daughter Teresa-Leigh Baskerville and grandsons Travis, Steven and Dillon. Daughter Denyse (Rick) Roszell, Daughter Victoria Roy and granddaughters Ireland and Sydney. Stepdaughter Teresa Berry and granddaughters Courtney and Trinity. Stepson Ed Holloway (Becky) Tyler, Jordan, McKenzie and Raegann.

Rick came to Kamloops with his parents and brother as a teenager in 1958. He worked at the Chevron on Columbia Street before learning the Land Title Agent business in Vancouver, where he spent five years. He moved back to Kamloops in 1966 and started his own registry company under the name of his Dad's existing company Central Sten-Ad. The printing portion was sold in 1978 when his Dad retired and Rick continued until his passing, with the Land Registry portion.

Rick joined Jaycees in the early 70's and was a very active member holding all positions and earning a life-time membership and the title of Senator.

Rick was very involved in sports, having his own baseball team, curling team and bowling team. He coached bantam hockey and was extremely proud to have coached Steve Izerman. Rick was extensively involved with the Kamloops Blazers for a number of years, holding the position of Secretary on the Board of Directors.

Rick first learned to golf with his Dad at age 12 and loved the game. He was a member of Rivershore Golf Club for 28 years and only gave up golf a couple of years ago when his health was bad.

His Celebration of Life will be held in the clubhouse at Rivershore Golf Club on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
