It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jay Burnette, on Oct. 28, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Virginia, he was the son of Janet (Jim) Gale and George Burnette.
Jay was full of love for life, and for family. When Jay walked in a room, his smile would light it up and a friendship would be made.
Jay is survived by his parents, Janet (Jim) Gale and father, George Burnette; sister, Jamie and brother, Joshua. Also surviving are his grandmother, Arlene (Red) Sublette, Uncle Jason, and Cousin Eric.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents and Aunt June.
Cremation has taken place, a visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 from 1-3 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
