Verna, late of Regina, SK dearly beloved wife of Charles Stewart, passed away peacefully in Regina General Hospital on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the age of 96 years. She was predeceased by infant son Keith Douglas Stewart; parents, John J. and Bertha Norman; siblings, Eunice (Roy) Nordstrom, Sybil (Dudley) Collins, Leona (John) Hickson, Annetta (Rupert) Pottruff, Irvin (Mabel) Norman, Beverley (Loretta) Norman, Murdoch Norman and Milton Norman; grandson-in-law Martin Bouchard. Verna is survived by her husband of 72 years, Charles Stewart; son Lyle (Linda) Stewart of Pense; daughter Cheryl (Neil) Perry of Calgary; grandchildren, Stephanie (Gabe) Batstone, Krista Bouchard (Kevin), Alison (Sean) Sargent and Lee (Jessica) Stewart; great-grandchildren, Julianna, Stewart, Teagan, Natalie, Josie, Jack and Liberty; sister-in-law Margaret Norman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Verna was born and raised in the Findlater / Chamberlain district. She and Charlie were married in 1941 and farmed in the Chamberlain district until 1945 when they began farming in the Pense district, where they raised their family. They retired to Regina in 1978, where they lived independently until Verna’s passing. They were an inseparable team with Verna active in farm, family and community activities. She enjoyed art and recording family and community history. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Laura Sundberg officiating. Interment in Regina Cemetery. Flowers most gratefully declined.
