LOMBARD, Viola Mae “Vi” – 87, passed away on October 31, 2013 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born October 1, 1926 in Yarmouth N.S. she was a daughter to the late Austin and Bessie (Delaney) O’Connell. Viola was a member of Saint Ambrose Parish and the Catholic Women’s League. She dedicated her life to nursing at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She is survived by daughters, Catherine and Joyce; son, Germain “John”; and several grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by husband, Jean-Baptiste “John” Lombard; brothers, Charlie, Victor, Herman; sisters, Julia and Doris. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. from Saint Ambrose Cathedral, Father Gerald David officiated. Interment followed in Saint Jean-Baptiste Cemetery in Corberrie.
