Alfred Gallant

GALLANT, ALFRED “FRED” - Alfred “Fred” Gallant, 93, formerly of Gloucester Street, Moncton, passed away on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at the K.E. Spencer Memorial Home following a lengthy illness. Born on January 4, 1920 in Adamsville, he was the son of the late Augustin and Melina (LeBlanc) Gallant. Fred was a veteran of the Second World War, and was retired from Lane’s Bakery. He is survived by his nieces: Florence Leger and Dianne Bourgeois; his nephews: Paul Leger, Raymond, Ronald, Henri, Denis, and David Bourque. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is predeceased by his sisters: Dorilla and Eveline; brothers: Léo and Arthur. Thank you to the staff of K.E. Spencer (Cedargrove) for their excellent care. Fred truly thought of you as his family.
No visiting hours by request. The funeral service will be celebrated at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Tuesday November 12, 2013 at 11 am. A reception will follow in the centre. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Adamsville.
