
Doris Marie MacDonald
Doris Marie (LeBlanc) (Robichaud) MacDonald - Peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family, the death of Doris Marie MacDonald, 92, of Amherst, occurred at the Gables Lodge on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Born in Sackville, NB, Doris was a daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Burke) LeBlanc.
Doris had been a former employee of Woolsworth Co. and National Specialty Co., she was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and was a past president of the Seniors Sunshine Club at Shiretown Manor. In her earlier years, she had been an active member of the CWL and was presented with her 60 year pin in 2013.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Gary (Gloria) Robichaud, Truro; a daugher-in-law, Gloria Robichaud, Amherst; grandchildren, Tony (Tina), of Amherst, Trudy, of Amherst, Micheal Robichaud, of Grand-Prairie, AB, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Robichaud, of Truro, and Leisa Cameron, of Amherst; great grandchildren Ryan and Alyssa Robichaud; sisters, Katherine Pugsley of Amherst, Dorilla Dunlop of Amherst, Mary (John) Comeau, of Weymouth; brothers, Hank (Ruth) LeBlanc of Amherst; brother-in-law, Leon Melanson, of Amherst; sisters-in-law, Geraldine LeBlanc of Amherst and Marina LeBlanc, of London, ON, and many nieces and nephews. As well, she is survived by her first husband, Lawrence Robichaud
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Val Robichaud; her second husband, Ian MacDonald; her twin brother, Robert; brothers, Mel and Peter, as well as brother Charles in infancy; sisters, Lena, Edna, and Alice.
Arrangements for Doris are under the care and guidance of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers will be held at 8:30 pm. A funeral service for Doris will be held from the Holy Family Parish, 63 Church Street, Amherst, on Wednesday at 11 am. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Nativity Cemetery. Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
