It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond James Elms of St. Anthony, NL, announce his peaceful passing at the Palliative Care Unit Western Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at the age of 94 years. Leaving to mourn son David (Sandra), Corner Brook; daughter Jackie (Wally), Steady Brook; grandchildren Jonathan (Amanda), Jennifer, Jeremy and Andrew; great-grandson Davis Raymond; step-granddaughters Emily and Meghan; step-great-grandson Max; brother Lewis (Jessie), and a large circle of other family and friends who were a big part of his life. He was predeceased by his wife Josie Elms (June 30, 2002). Dad left a positive impression on everyone who met him. He was known for his infectious sense of humor and his treasure chest of stories, all of which will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life took place on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church, St. Anthony with Fr. Paul Findlay officiating. Interment took place at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Levinia Fillatre, funeral director.
