Harold Day

DAY, HAROLD - It is with great sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Harold (OMD) William Day, which occurred on Thursday November 14, 2013 at his residence. Born in 1953 in Saint John, he was the son of Bette (Knox) Day and the late H. Nelson Day. Harold, affectionately known as “Ned” to his co-workers, proudly worked as a Paper Maker for Irving Paper for many years retiring in 2012. He was a past Wor. Master of the New Brunswick Lodge #22 and a Member of the Luxor Temple. Harold was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, ATVing and spending time at his trailer in St. George. He had a true passion for cooking, RVing and loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching NASCAR races. He is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline (Heard) Day; daughters Stephanie (Craig) Wilcox of Saint John and Jessica (Ilango) Day of Fredericton; brother Stephen (Diane) of Saint John; sisters Jennifer (Jim) Elgee and Joanne (John) Conrad both of Kingston, NB; grandchildren Gregor and Megan Wilcox, Bryston Nesbit, Aiden McCullough and Bailey Higgins. He will be greatly missed by his best friends Bill and JJ Homeny, Ron and Cathy Arseneau, Norm and Cathy Melvin and DNA.
Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. At Harold’s request a private family service will be held at a later date. The family would appreciate donations made to the Saint John Shrine Club Transportation Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
