BABINEAU, FRED - 1918 - 2013 - Sackville, NB: It is with great sadness that the family of Fred Babineau announce his passing at the Drew Nursing Home on Thursday, November 14, 2013. He was the son of the late Jude and Regina (Melanson) Babineau. He was born in Nova Scotia but spent most of his life in Sackville, NB. Fred was a long time parishioner of the Saint Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church. After being in the Armed Forces, Fred began working for Enamel and Heating where he worked until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and an avid golfer, card player, bowler and fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In his later years he enjoyed his coffee and visits with friends each morning at the local MacDonalds. Fred will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Juliette (nee LeBlanc); children, Robert Babineau; Lorraine (Vaughan) Wheaton both of Sackville; one grandson, Josh Wheaton of Calgary, brother Armand (Eileen), Sackville; sister in law Ida Babineau, Moncton, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Harvey and Erville.
Fred’s arrangements have been entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-1300) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Sackville Branch #26 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a memorial service on Sunday, November 17 at 7pm at the funeral home.Funeral mass will be held at 11am on Monday, November 18 from St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery. Donations in Fred’s memory may be made to St. Vincent’s Roman Catholic Church or to the charity of ones choice. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
