Lieu de naissance : Scatarie Island
Date de naissance : 5 juillet 1931
Lieu de décès : Main-A-Dieu
Date de décès : 15 novembre 2013
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary at the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Friday, November 15, 2013.
Born on Scatarie Island July 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (Trimm) Wadden.
After being widowed twice at a very young age, mom had some difficult years, but we were always proud of her and appreciated all the sacrifices she made for us. We were grateful to see mom find a loving and lasting relationship in her third marriage. Mom enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to knit, travel, thoroughly enjoyed card games with her many playing buddies and her nightly sip of sherry.
She is survived by sons Glen (Kathy) McDougall, Halifax; and Tony (Marilyn) McDougall, Main-A-Dieu; and daughters Georgina (Lionel Wadden) and Janice (Wayne Lahey), all of Main-A-Dieu. Also, step-children; Eddie (Carolyn) Hall, Reggie (Eileen) Hall, Glen (Diane) Hall, Kelly (Lori) Hall, Linda (Lorne Primmer), and Sharon Kennedy; grandchildren; Vanessa (Joe) Bellefontaine, Dwayne (Shawnda) Lahey, Cory (Jennifer) Lahey, Amanda (Michael), Chris, Libbey, Ainslie (Mike), Donald and Beth McDougall; and her special great-grandchildren; Lacey, Mark, Gracie, and Claire. She is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren on the McDougall side; 16 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren on the Hall side; sister, Yvonne (Joey Campbell); brother Lloyd (Terry) Wadden and stepson, Wallace (Pat) McDougall; and step-daughter-in-law Elizabeth McDougall.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husbands, George Campbell, Wallace McDougall, and John Hall; sisters, Theresa, Sis, Beatrice; brothers, Mike, Allistar, Charlie, Cletus, James, Vesty, Stanley; stepsons, Dan McDougall, Winkie and Graham Hall.
Visitation will take place at Immaculate Conception Parish Main-A-Dieu on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception on Monday at 11 a.m. with Fr. Raj and Fr. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Interment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or Main-A-Dieu Cemetary Fund.
