Passed peacefully away after a short and courageous battle with cancer in the presence of her loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Saturday, November 16th, 2013, Philomena Whelan of Colliers - Age 67 years. Predeceased by her father and mother: Andrew and Dorothy Ryan; her brothers: Paul, Leo and Michael; sisters: Agnes, Nora and Ellen. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Jim of 45 years, son Tony (Chris); and daughter Patti Ann (John); loving and precious grandchildren: Toni Marie, Hannah, and Julie; mother-in-law Margaret Whelan; sisters: Rita, Barbara (Cecil) and Pauline; brother Gerard (Margaret); sisters-in-law: Clara, Bridget and Annie; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Conway’s Funeral Home, Conception Harbour with visitation on Sunday, November 17th from
2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, November 18th from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 19th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Colliers. Interment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Colliers. Flowers greatly accepted or donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House or a charity of one’s choice.
