May Cole
COLE, MAY - It is with deep sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of May Cole, age 89, of Westcock, NB. May passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Drew Nursing Home. Born in Bramley, Yorkshire (Leeds), England, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and May (Robertshaw) Athorne. May was a war bride, coming to Canada on the Queen Mary in 1946 to live in Westcock. She was a member of St. Ann's Anglican Church, Past President of the Alter Guild as well as Past President of the Sackville Senior Citizens, and member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion. She worked at Marshlands Inn for 19 years. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, John (Carol), Fredericton, and Colin (Rosemary), Westcock; five daughters Patricia (Richard) Allen, Moncton, Linda (John) Long, Petawawa, ON, Donna (Neil) Sheldrick, White Lake, ON, Gail (Maurice) Noel, Scoudouc, and Barbara (Joey) Kaye, British Settlement, NB; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; a sister Barbara Warren, Bramley Leeds, England. She was predeceased by her husband Everett in 1983, and infant son Frederick William; grandson Alan Cole; brothers Ben, John and Ronald; sisters Madge, Olive, Winnifred and June.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 2 pm from St. Ann's Anglican Church, Westcock, NB. Burial will follow in the Westcock Cemetery.
