TERESA IDA SLATER
1921 - 2013

Mom passed away quietly on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the age of 92 years in the care of the wonderful staff of Herb Bassett Home where she has resided these past eight years. She was born on the farm near St. Louis SK to George and Christena Adams on January 27, 1921. She married Edwin Slater on October 9, 1940 sharing their life together for 72 1/2 years before Dad's passing seven months ago. Teresa is survived by her daughter Glenda Sharp and her son Dale and his children Kara and Krista; Teresa's son Bevan (Bonnie) and their daughters Christine (Stacey Laursen) and their children Carter, Odhin, Kai and Gage; Carrie Slater; Amy Slater and her children Anthony and Blake; nieces and nephews. Teresa was predeceased by her husband Edwin; her daughter Glennis; her son Alan; her parents; her in-laws Edmund and Mary Slater; her brother Peter and two infant brothers; as well as nieces and nephews. Mom was a hard-working woman raising a family while running their grocery store then later working at Kresge's Dept. Store. She enjoyed many curling games and bonspiels. She and Ed had several happy years wintering in Arizona. They loved to play cards with mom's cousins, go for long drives touring the countryside, and spending time at their cabin at Emma Lake. Their commitment to each other, to their family, and to hard work gave them much happiness and fulfillment. The family thanks the staff of Herb Bassett Home for the excellent care Mom received over the past years. We also thank Dr. Elmer for the care given to Mom. Public Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 with The Reverend Norbert Haukenfrers officiating. Both services will be held at St. David’s Anglican Church, 500 – 24th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of other tributes the family suggests a donation to St David's Church Elevator Fund or the Herb Bassett Home Auxiliary Fund. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Myriam Minier, Funeral Director.
