AMHERST – It is with deep sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of Jason Dean Cluney, age 39, of Amherst. Jason passed away in Saskatchewan on Monday, November 18, 2013.
Born in Schefferville, PQ, he was a son of Eric and Vera (Devine) Cluney.
Jason worked for 18 years at Atlantic Windows, working his way up to assistant supervisor. He most recently moved to work with CNR where he was training to become a conductor. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed camping with his family and friends and taking his kids to the beach. In the wintertime he enjoyed time out on his snowmobile.
In addition to his parents, he will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend, Beth Goodwin, Amherst; children Olivia and Amelia Goodwin, both at home; his paternal grandmother Hazel, Kelligrews, NL; mother-in-law Elizabeth Goodwin, Tidnish, NS; 2 sisters, Crystal Beal, New Glasgow, NS, Tabitha Cluney, Moncton, NB; half brother David Devine, Sydney, NS; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service for Jason will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2 p.m., Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
