We, the family of Alvin Seymour, of Robert Street, Sydney, would like to announce his passing on Thursday, November 28, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Azariah and Jean (Drodge) Seymour.
Alvin worked as a foreman for Mason’s Wholesale. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 128, Whitney Pier.
Surviving are his daughters, Donna (Gary) Cooper, Sydney and Charlotte Aucoin, Ottawa; sons, Robert 'Bob' (Carolyn), Dingwall, Charlie (Debra), Amherst, Al (Sheila), Hamilton, Gary (Gloria), Halifax and Bill, Hamilton; brothers, Andrew (Raylene), Winnipeg, Charles (Frances), North Sydney and William (Viola), Sydney; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alvin was predeceased by his sons, Kevin and Allen Keith (in infancy) and sister, Jemima Seymour.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church on Monday 2 p.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
