DONKIN, RALPH E. - Ralph Eugene Donkin, 83, of Moncton, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 following a brief illness. Born April 24, 1930 in Saint John, he was the son of the late J. Harold and Elsie (Coleman) Donkin. Ralph was employed as a Civil Engineer with DND prior to his retirement. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Florence née LeBlanc; his two children: Heather Donkin of Dartmouth and Peter (Nanette) of Halifax; three granddaughters: Lilly, Emma, and Abigail Oxner; a sister, Lois Sparks (Doug) of Dieppe; his former son-in-law, Barry (Belinda) Oxner of Dartmouth; a brother-in-law, Hervé LeBlanc; a sister-in-law, Louise Goguen (Ernest) many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his first wife, Helen (Close), and daughter, Barbara Oxner.
The family will be receiving condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s R.C. Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton, on Wednesday, December 4 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
