Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Nov. 26, 2013, Mr. Gordon Elihu Powell of St. Anthony, NL, in his 66th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of forty-one years Juanita; two daughters Tracey (Lorn) and Tammy (Morgan); two sons Ricky, Kirby (Rachel); 10 grandchildren; four sisters Beluah (Robert), Lydia, Sadie, and Gertie; two brothers Hedley (Mary) and Donald (Joan); as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Sarah, brothers Melvin and Alfred, and daughter-in-law Wendy. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Interment followed at Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
