It is with a heavy heart that the family of the late Gerard (Butch) Duffy announces his passing on Sunday, November 17, 2013 in White Rock, British Columbia. He leaves to mourn: his wife, Kathleen; children: Janet (Debbie), Gerard (Kristy), Erin (Chris); grandchildren: Autumn, Ben, Maddy, Liam, Jude, Alice, Aidan, Teagan and Cassidy; stepson, Trevor; 13 sisters, two brothers and a large ­circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John & Blanche Duffy, three brothers and one sister. Butch served the community of Prince Rupert as a firefighter for the past 31 years. He shared his time by volunteering with the Prince Rupert Minor Hockey Association and was very generous with his musical talent and sense of humor. He made his last journey home to Corner Brook in February 2012 after his diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and was overwhelmed by the love and support of family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
