Dora Leah Snyder, 94, Donkin, and formerly of Sheet Harbour, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born Feb. 7, 1919, in Whitehead, Guysborough County, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Bessie (Munroe) Feltmate.
Dora spent most of her life in Sheet Harbour with her husband Lawrence.
Besides being a a wife and mother, Dora worked at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital in the laundry department. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden at home.
In 2008 she sold her house and moved to Donkin to be close to her daughter.
The last two months she spent at MacGillivary Guest Home until passing peacefully at the CBRH.
Survived by daughter, Marilyn (Eric) Budden, Donkin; grandchildren, Helga, Orleans, Heidi (Dan), Coxheath, Mark (Helen), Tantallon; also her much loved five great-grandchildren, William, Craig, Alex, Jason and Carson; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, brothers, Harry, Austin, Everett and Don, sisters, Ada Munroe and Ada in infancy.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of D.S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home, Sheet Harbour. No visitation, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Donations in Dora's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Michael's Anglican Church, Sheet Harbour.
