Passed peacefully away on Nov. 21, 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Rita Mae Hillier of St. Lunaire-Griquet, NL, in her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Wilfred (Lillian), Eugene (Carole), Kevin (Mildred), Dennis (Cynde), and Ivan; daughters Helen (Frank), Lillian (Carl), Triffie (Jack), Donna (Bill), Debbie, and Janet (Art); sister Livie; two half-sisters; four half-brothers; 38 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Harvey Hillier, brothers Allan, George, Gordon, and Chesley, sisters Pearl, Lucy, Olive, Ruby, half-sister Rhoda, parents John and Rhoda Pilgrim, son Alvin, daughters Ruby and Lona. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Griquet followed by the funeral service which took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25 with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director. Memorial donations to The Gideon’s International are graciously accepted.
