With many tears and fond memories we like to announce the death of a caring and loving mother, sister and aunt.
Johannah ‘Hannah’ Mary Burton passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2013, at Highland Manor, Neil’s Harbour.
Born in Bay St. Lawrence on Oct. 11, 1919, to the late Susan and James Issac Burton.
Hannah was a strong member of St. Margaret’s CWL with a helping hand for everyone. She had a special relationship with the people she worked for in Sydney. She was a resident of Highland Manor for eight years.
Besides her parents, Hannah was predeceased by her sons, Douglas and Stanley, brothers, William and Donald, sisters, Anguscine and Emma, nephews, Roland and Cyril, niece Susan.
She is survived by nieces, Sheila and Jennifer, nephews, Robert, David and Melvin, brother-in-law, Douglas Thistle, Montreal.
The family would like to thank the staff of Highland Manor, Neil’s Harbour for the wonderful care and support provided for Hannah the past eight years.
Visitation for Hannah will be held in St. Margaret’s Church, St. Margaret’s Village 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 20. Funeral mass at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 21. Interment in parish cemetery.
Donations in memory may be made to Highland Manor, Neil’s Harbour.
