Eydie Elaine Wilkinson-Large
1964 - 2013

On December 7, 2013, Eydie passed away peacefully after a hard fought and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 49. Eydie was born in Prince Albert on July 7, 1964 and was raised on the family farm in Lily Plain. She attended West Central School and graduated from Carlton Comprehensive High School. She knew all about hard work and did all the regular chores that came with farm life whether she was picking berries or vegetables from the garden or helping her Mom with household duties. When it came to fun she could ride a motorbike as good as her older brothers and loved her Honda. Eydie’s career in hairdressing started at a very early age, cutting off all of her dolls hair. Fortunately her skills improved and she graduated from Cosmetology School. This was a good career choice for Eydie since she loved to talk and talk she did for hours. Unfortunately, she could not talk and work at the same time. When you had an appointment at Ed’s Curl Up ‘N’ Dye you knew you would be there for at least three hours! During a manicure, pedicure or haircut, Eydie and her clients laughed, cried, talked about kids, family, relationships, and everything in between. If a client was ill and unable to go to her shop for an appointment Eydie would go to their home or care home. She was so full of life, love, and laughter and her smile would light up the room. She had a great sense of humor even through her illness and had a way of making everyone around her happy. Eydie had a twinkle in her eye when she was a little girl and that twinkle remained all through her life. She touched many people’s lives and made so many dear friends over the years. Those who were lucky enough to know her will never forget her. In Eydie’s mind the greatest accomplishment in her life was her two precious boys, James and Joey who meant the world to her. Eydie will be lovingly remembered by her two sons; James and Joey and their father, Jim Large; her mother Tena Wilkinson; her special friend Dennis Teichroeb and his son Alex; her step-daughter Rennea (Mark) Markwart and their children, Lilly, Owen, Jack and Noah; her sister Leona (Larry) Sass; her brothers, Gordon (Sharon) Wilkinson; Wayne (Colleen) Wilkinson; Benny (Cheryl) Wilkinson and John (Rene) Wilkinson; her nieces and nephews; Pamela (Kevin) Riffel, Tehalen and Evan; Bobby Lysycia; Shauna Wilkinson, Cody (Melissa) Seth and Aylah Wilkinson; Kyle and Tekarra Wilkinson; Justin, Jordan and Lindsey Wilkinson; Velvet (Chase) Muxlow, Elyse (Tyler) Mantai & their son Ryder and Leah Wilkinson. Eydie was predeceased by her father Leonard Wilkinson in 2004. A Celebration of Eydie’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 – 6th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Mark Bergen officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to a charity of donor’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
