SAVOY, MARY EVANGELINE - Mary Evangeline Savoy, widow of the late J. Charles Savoy, of Miramichi Senior Citizen’s Home, formally of 10 Saint Thomas Street, passed away peacefully at the home on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the age of 95, with family by her side. Evangeline was the daughter of the late Jean and Philomene (Doucet) Boudreau and the widow of Joseph Charles Savoy. Born October 18, 1918, in Beaverbrook, New Brunswick. She was raised, after her mother’s death, by her paternal grandparents, Jean and Eliza Jane (Beebe) Boudreau. Evangeline is survived by daughters Cecilia McTimoney, Jane (David) Miller, Anne Marie (Tony) Walsh and sons Roger and John (Brenda), sister Eveline, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Besides her husband Charles and her parents and grandparents, she is predeceased by one infant son, Charles, brothers George (Doris) Martin, Joseph Boudreau, Hector Boudreau, and infant brother Norbert Boudreau.
Mrs. Evangeline Savoy is resting at Maher’s Funeral Home, 35 University Ave. Miramichi, with visitation on Tuesday, December 17th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 18 at 1pm at St. Michael’s Basilica Miramichi, with Father John Fraser officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in the spring.
