MacDONALD, MARK L. - 1919 - 2013 - Miramichi – Mark Lewis MacDonald, husband of the late Rhoda MacDonald, of the South Black River Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Monday, December 16, 2013, at the age of 94. Born in Bayside on March 1, 1919, he was the son of the late Clarence and Effie (MacLean) MacDonald. He was a self employed businessman working in the roofing and sheet metal business in the Toronto area, until his retirement. He was Christian by faith. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving with the North Shore Regiment in France, Holland, Belgium, England and Germany. He is survived by one daughter, Joyce Williams, of Black River Bridge; three sisters, Faye Ross (Garfield), of Moncton, Mona Brian (Stacy), of P.E.I., Ponsy Dickson (Carl), of Miramichi; four brothers, Leonard, of Ontario, Windsor, of Moncton, Jim, of Miramichi, Clarence (Jr.), of Miramichi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rhoda MacDougall; three sisters, Thelma Stymiest, Effie Sinclair, Verna MacDonald; three brothers, Byron, Alwyn and Raymond MacDonald.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Wednesday, December 18th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Loggieville Recreation Center, on Thursday, December 19th, 2013, at 2 pm. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, Black River Bridge. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Black River Cemetery Fund or the Bayside Christian Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
