Catherine Marjorie (LeVatte) Macintosh 'Girlie' age 83 of Halifax, N.S., passed away at the Halifax Infirmary on Dec. 18, 2013.
Born in Sydney River, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of Margaret V. (Carmichael) LeVatte and Harry C.V. LeVatte.
She attended Holy Angels Convent in Sydney and worked at LeVatte Construction Company. She was an active member of the IODE and volunteered with young children and MS Research. Our mother’s passion was to find a cure for MS, of which she had for 47 years. She was always seen with a smile on her face and kindness in her heart. Family and friends we will deeply miss her and know she is at peace.
Survived by daughter, Jane C. (Byron Smith) Macintosh, Calgary, Alta.; son, Ian F. Macintosh (Netzl Naldoza), Montreal Que.; sisters, Elizabeth 'Betty' Dedrick, Sydney, Betty 'Tootsie' LeVatte Hearns, Toronto, Ont.; grandchildren, Catherine, Angus, and Rhys, Calgary, Alta., Julia, Jessica, Breanna, Nathan and Joshua, Montreal, Que.
Predeceased by her husband, John F. (Oula) Macintosh, infant son, Scott, brothers, Harry, Charles, Donnie, and William 'Billy' LeVatte.
She will be missed by her Persian cat “Cuddles”.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, 902-455-0531 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial service to be held at Fairview United Church on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MS Society.
