The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, of Gordon Matthews, of Summerside, aged 77 years. Born in Montreal, QC, he was the son of the late Cecil and Amelia (Campbell) Matthews. Survived by his wife Irene (Gallant) Matthews; brothers-in-law Louis (Margaret) Gallant; Cyril DesRoches; Gordon McIntyre; sister-in-law Louise (Thad) MacDonald; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters-in-law Ina McIntyre, Una DesRoches and Janet (Patrick) Power. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. A graveside service will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. No visiting hours by personal request. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I would be appreciated.
