It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel “Moe” Genevieve (Landry) Chapman age 65 of Amherst on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 8, 1948 in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late George Gallant and Alice (Tower) Connolly and adopted daughter of the late John (Jack) and Esther (Thrasher) Wood.
Muriel loved time spent with family and friends, especially being Nannie Moe. She enjoyed her music, her Tetley tea and her “little piece of Heaven” in her backyard.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Bev Chapman; sons, Jim Landry, Kevin (Susan) Landry and Mark Landry; grandson, Kylie LeBlanc; sister, Jean Siddal; special sister in law, Sharon Hornsby; brothers in law, Robert Chapman, Douglas Chapman and Val LeBlanc; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Muriel was predeceased by her sisters, Jacqueline Corbett and June LeBlanc; brothers, William Wood and Peter Wood.
As per Muriel’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service at 11:00 a.m. all in Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Deacon Howard Gotell officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Muriel’s memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Palliative Unit.
