Joe,

The boys at Domtar brought you back to us for just a week. In that week, there was so much love and gratitude expressed. I knew you were not ready to go. It was fast, but there is no way you passed away peacefully. You would have gone out kicking and screaming, if you could have.

You were in your prime, with two daughters that adored you, loving family members, good friends, a job you enjoyed, fish that needed to be caught, and me, your wife who cannot imagine what life will be like without "My Joe".

You surrounded me with love every moment we were together. We laughed every day. I still feel you with me. You bring out the best in me. When we had Caitlin and then our second daughter, Taylor, I knew our partnership would take on a new depth of purpose. The girls knew you were proud of the women they were becoming. Your love and support for our children was unconditional. You got a kick out of the excitement that Caitlin and Taylor's friends brought to the house. You had a personal relationship with each of their friends and kept up on their boyfriends, jobs and school.

Our home was always filled with a vibrant energy. You loved the dog and tolerated the cat. On weekends, all chores were done in the early morning so we could enjoy the day. The day often involved helping someone else out; you were just that kind of guy. I know how much you enjoyed the quiet visits in the garage with your buddies, the late night campfire chats, and getting out on the water to fish. You were the best party host and our end of the summer party this year was the best party ever! "Random friend to dinner" was fun. You loved people so much; we teased you in Disneyland about enjoying the people in line more than the rides. I guess you showed us the journey is just as much fun as the destination.

You really lived the width of your life Joe, not just the length of it. Every single day was a great day.

You touched a lot of people and you were a good man, Joe Peinhaupt!

With Love, Wanda
