The death occurred peacefully with family at her side, at the Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, on Friday, December 27, 2013, of Teresa Monaghan (nee Johnston), of Cornwall and formerly of South Melville, age 86.
Teresa was the beloved wife of the late George Monaghan; dear mother of Kaye Brown (John), Marlene Callaghan (John), Barb Kenny (Gary), Donna MeulenKamp (Jan), Shirley Walker, Diane Doyle (Mike), Gary and Larry Monaghan; grandmother of 19 and great-grandmother of 11. She is also survived by her brother, Roy Johnston (Corrine), Toronto, Ontario; and brother-in-law, Gerard Gallant (Florence), Summerside.
Besides her husband, Teresa was predeceased by her parents, Johnny and Agnes (Murphy) Johnston; brothers, James (in infancy) and Arnold; and sister, Genieve Gallant.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Monday, December 30, 2013, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Parish, Kelly’s Cross on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
