WOOD POINT, N.B.- It is with sadness, but peace of heart that the family of Peter Wood, announce his passing on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. Peter was 65 years of age.
Born on September 12, 1948 in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Arvilla (Read) and Beverly Wood.
Peter was a trustee and member of the Wood Point Baptist Church, a skilled carpenter and an avid hunter and woodsman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many close friends and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Linda (Wheaton) Wood; his daughters, Lisa (Jamie) Smith and Jennifer (Dana) Morin; his brothers, Vincent (Marie) Wood and Tony (Jennifer) Wood and by his three grandchildren, Kara, Devon and Laura, all of Sackville.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by an infant brother, Austin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visiting hours took place at the funeral home on Friday, December 27, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place at the Main Street Baptist Church on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ryan Skaling officiating, assisted by Pastor Danny Jack. A reception was held at the church following the service. Burial will take place in the spring in the Westcock Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter may be made to the Wood Point Baptist Church, Westcock Cemetery or to the charity of one’s choice.
