Passed away at his home in Stoney Creek, surrounded with the love of his family, on Monday, December 30, 2013, in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband of June (nee Grzygocki). Loved father of Lorri Cifani, Gary Lannigan (Dao), Christine Coulthard (Michael) and the late James (1996). Cherished grandfather of Michelle (Quincy), Justin, Amanda, Michael, Catherine and "adopted" grandson Justin Hand. Dear brother of Joseph, Francis, Beth, Theresa, Vivian and Cecelia and the late Jim, Ralph, Bernice, Nicholas, Louis and Gerald. Brother-in-law of Bernice, Stan and the late Charlie and Edward. Survived also by many nieces and nephews.
Hank lived his life with integrity along with being generous, compassionate and devoted to family. He was a devout Catholic who set an example to all who knew him. He will forever be remembered for his good-natured smiles and the twinkle in his eye, even through his suffering. He was our pillar of strength through many hard times and a true inspiration for how to live life. We all hope to aspire to live our lives with the same positive outlook on life.
Through the invaluable support of Victorian Order of Nurses, C.C.A.C and St. Elizabeth Nurses, we were able to fulfill his wish to remain in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation was held at Smith’s Funeral Home, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) Stoney Creek (905-664-4222) on Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 10-11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at 12 noon. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
