
Donald Stokes
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Donald Melbourne Stokes, age 71, of Sackville. Donald passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, December 27, 2013.
Born in Sackville he was a son of the late Frank and Jannie (Wheaton) Stokes.
Donald was very active in the Sackville Lions Club and was Past President. He enjoyed visits with family and friends, reading and watching T.V. and scooting to town in his wheelchair.
He will be dearly missed by his sisters Charlotte Bulmer (Aubrey Lewis) and Laurice (Alain) Cormier, both of Sackville, and Faye (Patrick) Gouchie, Grand Prairie, Alberta; 3 brothers, Frank (Florence) and Tony (Valerie) both of Fredericton and Douglas (Bonnie) of Bayfield, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by sisters Doreen Ward, Sharon Siddall and Linda Lewis; brother-in-law Herman Bulmer.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, N.B. (506-364-1300), where visiting hours will take place on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service for Donald took place at the Jones Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2013, at 2 p.m., Pastor Hal Lowther officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.
