Born and raised in Glace Bay, now of Kingston, Ont., John died peacefully, at Hastings Manor, surrounded by the love of family, on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014.
John Currie, age 79, loving father of Brenda Lloyd (Gary) of Frankford, Terry Currie (Madonna) and Gregory Currie, both of Ottawa. Affectionately known as 'Papa' to granddaughters Krista Lloyd of Frankford, Angie Alain of Gatineau and great-grandfather of Chloe Alain.
Survived by sisters Pearl, Anita, Martha, Lorraine and predeceased by sisters Marina, Leona, Mae and brother Daniel.
In accordance with John's wishes, cremation has taken place and funeral services will be private.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to U.H.K.F. (Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario), in Mr. Currie's memory.
