Marion DeMerchant

Marion DeMerchant

DeMERCHANT, MARION - The family of Marion DeMerchant is sad to announce her passing at the Victoria Glen Manor on January sixth, 2014. Marion had been in failing health for the last few years and has now moved on to the next step in an eternal life. She was born on May 16, 1929 to the late William and Elizabeth (Wallace) DeMerchant. Marion had a twin sister, the late Mary Liles. She was brought up in a large family that included nine brothers, Ralph, William, Gerald, Reid, Lloyd, Robert, Peter, Jack and Keith, two sisters, Mary Liles and Reta Jamer. Marion was happiest when she was hosting the weekly Sunday dinners. She was predeceased by all her siblings except Peter and Reta. She was a giving person, the sole caregiver of her Mother and her brother, Bobby. She lived her entire life in Tobique Narrows. Well known in the community, she worked her whole life in the service industry. Dry cleaning shops, groceries stores, drug stores and china shops were run efficiently by her guiding hand. Always conscientious, she walked to work everyday, Marion was very involved in the Order of the Eastern Star, rising to Worthy Matron in the Perth-Andover branch. She knit beautifully and as a cake maker she was extra-ordinaire. The family wish to commend the staff of the Victoria Glen Manor for their loving care of our favourite, "Aunt Mim"
Marion's earthly remains have been cremated, there will be no visitation. Interment will take place in the spring in Larlee Creek Cemetery at a time to be announced later. Brunswick Funeral Homes is in charge of the burial. We wish to thank Luc for his help and guidance.
