HAYES, MARY "BERNICE - Mary "Bernice" Hayes passed away peacefully on January 5, 2014, at the age of 90 years, in the Palliative Care Unit of V.G. Hospital with family and friend at her side. Predeceased by her husband, Arthur, several brothers and sisters. Bernice will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Maxine and brother-in-law Joe Hurley of Truro, NS, nephews and nieces too numerous to list and many, many friends. Bernice was an avid gardener and loved her views of Kits. Beach and English Bay. She amazed all who knew her with her boundless energy and optimism.
Memorial Service will be held at Canadian Memorial United Church, 1825 West 16th ave. Vancouver, B.C. in late May. Date and time will be announced as well as a Celebration of Bernice's Life in Kitsilano. Donations to the charity of one's choice or at V.G.H. Foundation stating "Palliative Care Unit".
