MUNRO, GREGOR - 1938 - 2014 - Miramichi - Gregor Munro of Winnipeg Crescent, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the age of 76. Born in Bellshill, Scotland on May 3, 1938, he was the son of the late Cunningham and Christina (Smith) Munro. He was a Marine Draftsman who worked in the Saint John shipbuilding industry from 1964 until his retirement in 1992. A member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, he served on the Board of Managers and sang in the Choir. He and his wife Emily were proud residents of Miramichi for the past 15 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Emily (Tinto) Munro; his daughters, Sheilagh Bell (Mark) of Kingston, NB, and Laura Friedrich (Brian) of D'Arcy, BC; his grandchildren, Zachary and Sarah Bell.
By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A celebration of Gregor's life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Calvin Presbyterian Church. The service will be conducted by Reverend Derek Krunys. The family would like express appreciation for the care they received from the nurses and staff of CCU, Palliative Care, and Extra Mural of the Miramichi Regional Hospital. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Extra Mural Nursing Program or to SPCA-Miramichi would be appreciated by the family.
