It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Phyllis Burns, 71, of Westmount, on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.
Born in Westmount, Phyllis was the daughter of the late James and Albertine (Thompson) Burns.
She was a member of Holy Rosary parish, Westmount.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Ralph (Nancy); grandson, Tyler (Chelsea) Phillips; special young man, Travis Phillips; brothers, Wessie (Anne-Marie) Burns and James Burns. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Phyllis will be sadly missed by family and friends, especially, her cat, Angel.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Mary and sister, Bernice Williams.
Phyllis loved to have a good laugh and her sense of humour was contagious to everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Douglas Murphy officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
We, your family, miss you.
In the house where you use to be
we wanted so much to keep you.
But, God willed it not to be.
Now, you are in God’s keeping.
You suffer no more pain.

until we meet again.
