RICHARD, LÉONIDE - Léonide Richard, 84, of Shediac, passed away on Thursday January 16, 2014 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UCH. Born on August 25, 1929 in St-Paul, he was the son of the late Fidele and Odelie (Girouard) Richard. Before his retirement, he was a carpenter. A family man, he enjoyed playing his guitar and puzzles. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Goguen) Richard; one son, Marc (Denise) of Grande-Digue; two sisters: Ida Bourque (Alcide) of Cocagne and Maria LeBlanc (Armand) of St-Paul; two brothers: Denis (late Rita) of Shediac and Roger (Dorina) of St-Paul; two grandchildren: Miguelle and Alexie; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters: Alice Girouard and Bertha Cormier.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shédiac (532-3297) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church, Shediac on Monday January 20, 2014 at 11am. In memory of Léonide, a contribution to the UCH Dumont Foundation (Oncology) would be appreciated. The family would like to send their sincere thanks to the Shediac Extra-Mural Hospital, UCH Palliative Care and the Pascal-Poirier Home Care employees for the care and compassion given to Léonide during his illness.
