The death occurred peacefully, with family by her side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, of Sophia Elisabeth Bondt (nee Bouwense), formerly of Kingston, and The Hague, NL, age 92.
Sophia was the wife of the late Jacob Bondt; well loved mother of Daniel (Naomi), Gerard (Hester), Jacob (Darlene), Henk (Judy), Annelies Roggeveen (Sjoerd), Levina Luymes (Herman), Philip (Jane) and Miriam Bondt (Jurgen de Hoogh); grandmother of twenty-nine and great-grandmother of forty-three. In addition to her husband, Jacob Bondt, Sophia was predeceased by her parents, Gerard and Johanna (van den Hoogenband) Bouwense.
A memorial service will be held at Christian Reformed Church, Charlottetown, on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 3 p.m. to celebrate the life and faith of Sophia Bondt. Family will be welcoming friends and neighbours from 1-3 p.m. at the church.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial donations to the Immanuel Christian School would be appreciated.
Interment will take place at a later date in Kingston United Church Cemetery.
