MacRAE, MARILYN GAIL – It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Marilyn Gail MacRae which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Born 1947, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Doucette) Naves. Marilyn worked as a custodian before retiring in 2011. She was an avid baseball fan and coached minor league for many years. Marilyn was a member of the Saint John Alpine League. She was a Cub leader, she loved the Blue Jays and she enjoyed camping with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her husband Gerald of 46 years; sons Tony MacRae (Margaret) of Quispamsis, NB, Jason MacRae of Clifton Royal; daughter Denise MacRae (Ronnie) of Kingston, NB; brothers Jimmy Naves (Linda) of Saint John, Kevin Naves (Sherry) of Rothesay, George Naves (Doreen)of Saint John, Gary Naves (Kate) of Saint John; sisters Anita Naves of Saint John, Audrey Legere (Murray) of Saint John, Diane Wilson (Charlie) of Saint John, Cathy Legere of Alberta, Debbie Allan (Bill) of Rothesay; grandchildren Joshua, Emily, Catie, Kendra, Jaynah MacRae and Courtney Griffith. Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her sister Linda Pollock.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, January 26th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Stella Maris Catholic Church on Monday, January 27th at 12:05 pm. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the New Brunswick Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
