Yvon Bourgeois
BOURGEOIS, YVON - Yvon Bourgeois, 92, of the Veteran’s Health Centre, Moncton, formerly of Shediac and Scoudouc, passed away on Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 at his residence. Born on October 28, 1921 in Scoudouc, he was the son of the late Albénie and Eugénie (Melanson) Bourgeois. He retired as an electrician with CNR for 31 years in Montréal and was a veteran of the Second World War. He is survived by four sons: Michel (Micheline) of Laval, QC, Jacques (Rose-Marie) of Moncton, Pierre (Jean-Yves) of Ottawa, ON, and André (Lucie) of St-Jérôme, QC; one sister, Lorraine (Dean Lovelock) of Moncton; one brother, Henri (Marguerite) of Shédiac; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, many sisters-in-law, brothers-in law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Georgia née Bourque (2007); one sister, Dora Bourgeois; three brothers: Léandre, Valérie and Siméon. We will remember Yvon as a righteous, honest man who was faithful in his convictions, a kind and loving father, but mainly of a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Georgia. He was and will remain an inspiring role model for his children and grandchildren.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The Veterans will hold a service of remembrance at 4 pm Sunday at the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur R.C. Church, 3091 Route 132, Scoudouc, on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 9 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Yvon, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.
